12 Dec 2023

This special evening will explore how public sculpture can help communities celebrate the unique beauty and rich history of their rural landscapes, fostering local creativity and contributing to place-making.

The evening will include talks from renowned sculptors including Monmouthshire based sculptor Harvey Hood.

There will also be a focus on the popular sculptures on the Living Levels Sculpture Trail looking at the commissioning, with a rare opportunity to hear from the artists themselves about how they created their works responding to the landscape, reflecting the heritage of the area and engaging with communities.

Love them or loathe them public sculptures can define our public spaces. The evening will also include a lively, open discussion on the subject - How does contemporary public sculpture transform our landscapes?
