Music and Lyrics Stephen Sondheim Book by George Furth
Stephen’s Sondheim’s fantastically rich score surrounds a very funny, yet poignant, play. Meet Frank the big Hollywood producer, once a big Broadway composer, alongside is Charlie who writes the lyrics and Mary who holds a candle for Frank. Their lives intertwine but the twist in this tour de force of theatre is that the story goes backwards, retracing the pivotal moments and decisions, from the 1970s back to when their lives were starting out in 1950s New York, full of hope. A much simpler time.
This ultimately uplifting musical is a must see and brought to you by the same company that brought Evita, Pirates of Penzance and A Little Night Music to the Borough.
