“Introduction to Technical Theatre” course which ran at the Borough Theatre during March 2018.<\/p>\n

The course was funded by a GAVO Cash4U grant(Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations) which paid for a professional Stage Technician, Jon Cox, to teach 5 sessions looking at different aspects of backstage Theatre work. The grant was applied for by 16 year old Cosmo who wanted to learn more about the technical aspects and possible careers in Theatre.<\/p>\n

Sessions specialised in Production Management, Rigging and Focussing Lights, Mixing Sound including multiple Microphones, Audio-Visual in live shows, Health & Safety.<\/p>\n

The course was free and attended by twelve 14-25 year olds, some of which have now joined the Borough Theatre as Technical Volunteers.<\/p>\n

The course was so popular and over-subscribed that the Borough is organising 2 more courses to run in the summer and autumn for young people. These courses are funded by Abergavenny Town Council who are helping to invest in the training ofthe Young People at the Borough.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
